The Act Of Humanitarianism

The Act Of Humanitarianism

The Act Of Humanitarianism

To be a Humanitarian is an act of selflessness, it is to do the will of God.

This is the Spirit of God-The Holy Spirit, This is the spirit of kindness, sharing, comforting, consoling, helping in whatever way you can to make others happy. To bear good fruit on earth. This is what our Lord Jesus Christ did when he chose to come into this world to die for us and also, our blessed Mother Mary when she accepted without question her role to bear a son with all the mysteries, shame and humiliation surrounding it, this is the true spirit of HUMANITARIANISM. It is the act of giving oneself completely to helping others not just those we love- our family members, neighbours and community but, even to those we do not know within our Country and beyond.

Furthermore, our Lord Jesus Christ gave us a guidelines on the very acts of Humanitarianism in Matthew 22 vs 36 to 40 when he responded to “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law”? Jesus said to him, “you shall love your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, this is the greatest commandment and first commandment but, the 2nd is similar to it, “you shall love your neigbhour as yourself on these commandments the entire law depend and also the prophets”

More so, to buttress this point, our Lord Jesus Christ taught us the act of Humanitarianism when he said in Matthew chapter 25: 34-36, “the the king shall say to those who will be on

his right, “come you blessed of my Father possess the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world, “for when I was hungry you gave me to eat, when I was thirsty you gave me to drink, naked you covered me, sick you visited me, I was in prison you came to me. Do i need to say more, th

ese are simple acts required of us, it is good to help others, in giving, the soul feel very happy and, for me I feel really happy when I do something to help others because, in giving the soul feels fulfilled. We should not feel arrogant when asked for help; we should not even wait to be asked for help before we do it.

Our blessed Mother Mary helped the couple at the wedding in Canaan when she interceded on their behalf as she noticed their wine was out of order, to prevent them from shame without their knowledge, she requested for help from her son even though she knew it wasn’t yet time to begin performing miracles and of course, he obliged her and saved the day, this is being Humanitarianism, helping without accolades or, secret motive, giving what you can without expectations or rewards.(John: 2:1-10).

In conclusion therefore, whether rich , average or poor, be kind in your words, give happily, do not reveal secrets, do not steal or take from others just because you can and most importantly, pray for others as you pray for yourself.

Thank you.
